AF lenses may be used with manual focusing only on 6008 Integral, 6003 Pro or 6001 Pro.
Shutter/Aperture Mechanisms- Leaf Shutter fires/flash syncs from 500TH-30 Sec for PQ and 1000TH-30 Sec for PQS lenses (1000TH unique in Rollei). Both the shutter and aperture settings are 1/3 Increment F-Stop controllable. All other medium format systems are at best, a crude 1/2 stop control in either case.
The 6000 system is based on a direct-drive highly accurate solenoid mechanisms which are integrated into each lens. This system prolongs the operational life of the lenses while minimizing "Gold dust" (caused by metal-on-metal friction) in the lens cavity. Other systems are based on easily fatigued mechanical driven gears and springs which tend to wear down much faster after extensive use, specially in the higher shutter speed range.
Mirror- Unlike other square formats, after each exposure, the mirror is dropped back down immediately for the next frame.
However, one still has the capability of locking the mirror up before exposure to maximize performance. (this feature to be used in the manual mode only, since the metering mechanism behind the mirror is moved out of the way and no longer functional)
Inserts-(see 31,32,57,58,59,60,61) Unlike other medium formats, the inserts are not only symmetric (reversible), they are both 120 and 220. Furthermore, they are not serial-number-specific, you can use them with any number of 120 or 220 backs. After finishing one roll, the spool (31) from the first roll is left behind to act as the take-up spool while the next roll is loaded on the other side. This alone reduces loading time by 30%.
Backs-(see 36,37,38,39,40,49,50,51,52,53,54,55)Are very easy to load, have built-in Titanium darkslides, their individual asa dials communicate that information to the body for ease of automatic exposure and TTL-Flash mode operations. Please make sure paper and other debris are removed from the darkslide and back area when loading.
Battery-(see 9,10,41,78) High capacity NiCds that after a full 2-Hr charge in Charger N (120/220 auto switch, car charger adapter available also), can provide between 200-500 frames depending on the ambient temperature. They last at least a year or two, provided they are maintained properly. No need to charge them over-night.
Once you receive your new camera, please do not operate camera before fully charging the batteries first (2-Hr). The 6008 AF requires more current to operate all the electronics, full feature display and the fast AF lenses, therefore it's a good idea to top-off the batteries (usually for 10 min) before each use. We now supply a AA Power Pack that improves shooting time between charges/replacements by about 200%-600% depending on the type of AAs used (Nicds-LiIons). Designed for the backpacker/ location shooter it's very light weight and can operate on re-chargeable NiMH. Please unplug battery pack cord from the module when not in use. WARNING: Please DO NOT use batteries/cells that are not recommended by the manufacturer as you'll void the warranty.
Macro Capability-Most sophisticated macro capability EVER. -Most versatile all around/macro lens is the 90/4.0 APO PQS. It can do half life size, acts as a normal and portrait lens. Super sharp and able to reach sync speed of 1/1000TH sec.
-Reverse Lens Adapter allows the reverse mounting of (50/4.0,60,80,120,150) and can be used in conjunction with extension rings and the Vario, while maintaining full auto exposure/TTL flash capability, if needed. Macro World

90 Apo + Vario or 150 Apo Symmar + Bellows

-Vario Extension Tube which goes from 22mm-68mm with [50/4.0,60,90(w/Limited Range),80/2.8,120,150,250]
-Bellows Extension Range: 67mm-204mm Retains all auto functions. -M39/M40 Shutter Adapter see: M30/M40
Prisms-Rollei Prisms do not carry any metering electronics and are all 360 Degree turnable. The metering circuitry are a part of the camera body, removing the cumbersome metering adjustments that are necessary with the use of different screens on other systems. 6000 circuitry simply transmits light information to the body from behind the mirror and the body makes the needed adjustments on the lens and shutter.
